Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television presenter in the US and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers straightforward, simple techniques to master for the at-home cook in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell studied and worked in the best New York restaurants. He also battled Iron Chef America and the food scene of Italy. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and eating at an early age. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in restaurant management after she earned an English/Communications degree at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a great learning experience. I was unable to learn enough, didn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. After graduation, Burrell spent one year studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred establishment. When she was in Italy she gained an appreciation and knowledge of Italian culinary traditions. It had a significant effect on the way she thinks about food. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists children with obstacles. She travels frequently around the United States in her position as a mentor as well as a public speaker in which she speaks about her professional life and the joy of cooking. Anne has stated during her career in the kitchen she is incredibly fortunate to be able share with others what is most important to her.
